1) IL LARGE 4-QUART SAUCE PAN PLACE 3-QUARTS WATER, BEANS, OLIVE OIL, GARLIC, SAGE AND PEPPER CORNS. COVER AND COOK AT LOW HEAT, 2-3 HOURS, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY WITH A WOODEN SPATOLA.
2) WHEN THE BEANS ARE ALMOST COOKED TAKE OUT THE GARLIC CLOVES AND ADD 1 TBLSPOON SALT.
3) FINISH TO COOK.
4) SERVE WARM AS A SIDE DISH CONDITIONED WITH SALT, GROUND PEPPER, EXTRA VERGIN OLIVE OIL AND ITALIAN BREAD OR BAGUETTE.
