IN A LARGE BOWL PLACE THE FLOUR, BUTTER, MARSALA WINE, POWDERED SUGAR, EGG, BAKING POWDER, CINNAMON AND SALT. MIX THE INGREDIENTES WITH ELECTRIC MIXED UNTIL WELL COMBINED, WHEN IT BECOMES HARD HELP YOURSELF WITH YOUR HANDS. LET THE DOUGH REST ABOUT 30 MINUTES.
USING A ROLLING PIN, ROLL THE DOUGH AND FORM STRIPS ABOUT 1/2 INCH THICK AND ABOUT 6 INCHES LONG.
MAKE THE KNOTS, MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT TOO TIGHT OR THEY WILL NOT COOK, BUT THIGHT ENOUGH SO THEY WILL NOT OPEN DURING COOKING.
FRY THE KNOTS IN HOT FRYING OIL UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. PLACE THE KNOTS ON PAPER TOWELS TO DRAIN THE EXCESS OIL.
SPRINKLE WITH POWDERED SUGAR AND SERVE HOT.
